We are pleased to introduce a new EPDM compound to our product portfolio:
EPDM LT (Low Temperature EPDM), specially developed for butterfly valve seals operating in very low temperature applications. Traditionally, low-temperature sealing has required the use of silicone or ECO compounds. While these materials offer good performance, they also involve a significantly higher cost.
Our new EPDM LT provides a smart and cost-effective alternative, combining:
- Excellent elastic recovery at low temperatures.
- Similar compression set behaviour to silicone compounds.
- Reliable sealing performance down to -30°C in continuous service and peaks of -40°C.
- The chemical resistance expected from high-quality EPDM compounds.
- A more economical alternative to silicone and ECO without compromising sealing reliability.
Internal laboratory testing has shown that EPDM LT achieves silicone-like recovery after 30 minutes at -30°C, while offering significantly better immediate recovery than both silicone and ECO references.
This new formulation has been specifically designed for applications where standard EPDM compounds reach their limits, offering a reliable and economical solution for demanding low-temperature environments.
